Voice Majors at UL Lafayette

Voice students at ULL may major in vocal music or vocal performance. While the education major prepares to teach music at the elementary and secondary level, the performance major's focus is on preparing for a singing career and/or pursuing a graduate degree in vocal performance. Students in both majors are required to meet high standards of vocal excellence and are encouraged to participate in as many solo opportunities and stage productions as possible. Both degrees require the performance of public solo recitals and the opportunity to participate in the student auditions at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). ULL voice students are also involved in solo performances throughout the Lafayette and Acadiana community. The ULL voice faculty are professionals who encourage and support their students, guiding them towards the achievement of their career goals.
